If you're boosting signal for multiple televisions, choose a spot near your antenna line splitter.Professional grade amplifier. 36db gain designed to be used in medium to large distribution systems amplifying signals from 40MHz to 900MHz. This amplifier also amplifies indoor and outdoor TV and HDTV antenna signals for best reception. It works with cable modems. Adjustable gain control for optimum picture quality. This device traps and eliminate interference from FM broadcasts. Its circuitry design is unique for maximum stability. Metal housing protects it from unwanted drops and interferences.
Features:
- Installation Note: TV amplifiers that have a power supply (such as this model) should be installed indoors, or in a location that will not be subject to any moisture. A booster should be installed as close as possible to the antenna, and before any coax cable splitters that may also be used.
- NOTE ABOUT USE and POTENTIAL FOR STATION LOSS: A signal amplifier/booster will only imporve a signal that is already present. This booster should work for any channel that is used by off-air TV stations. There are always situations where any amplifier does not help. If the station is particularly weak, but there are other very strong channels nearby, even radio stations, such radio station signals may block out other TV stations. This amplifier amplifies everything within the point where a local strong station could create interference that covers up the weak station you are attempting to receive.
- If the station is particularly weak, and/or there is a long length of cable, or splitters to other TV’s between the antenna and this amplifier, certain channels may also be lost. Also, such long length of cable (especially if only a dual sheild cable) can pick up noise that is almost as strong as the station you are trying to receive. By adding the amplifier, you can possibly increase the strength of the interference as much (if not more) than the station. In this case, it might help to put the amplifier closer to the antenna.
- Do not put this outside. But as with all signal amplifiers, the closer you can get to the antenna (with long cable runs and splitters after the amplifier), the better the reception potential.
-
User MUST have an existing signal source to begin with for amplification. If no valid source i.e. antenna or cable the amplifier won’t be able to boost signal from thin air. It does not work all by itself. You must have an existing signal source.
-
Use the cable from the Antenna to connect to the INPUT of the amplifier.1.Connect the OUTPUT of the Antenna to the TV input.2.Plug in the Amplifier to the power source.3.Turn on the TV.4.Run the channel search on your TV.
